Fruits of the Spirit

Okay, so I have done a lesson on the Fruits of the Spirit before, but I have decided to do it again with my group of Acteen girls for our next meeting. I have found additional verses to go with each Fruit of the Spirit and there will be an activity we do in class. This is our basic lesson plan, however, and a reminder of how to act out the fruits of the spirit…..

Fruits of the Spirit  (This link will take you to the reminder of how to act out the fruits of the spirit)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such there is no law.

-Galatians 5:22-23

The Fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are all ways in which we as Christians can show others the love of Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things.

-Philippians 4:8

God wants us to do good, He wants us to think about good things, be good people, and do anything that will bring glory to Him. These are the things that we need to concentrate on every day. The Fruits of the Spirit are a good way to remind us of the things that would be considered noble, pure, lovely, and good. If we live out the Fruits of the Spirit then we will bring praise to God.

List out each of the Fruits of the Spirit. Beside each fruit think of a person that you know for each one. The person can be family, friend, someone at church, a teacher, etc. A good thing to do would be to think of one of these people every day and the fruit that you associated them with. For example, on Day 1 you could choose Love. Read the love verse which is Deuteronomy 6:5 and think of whomever you wrote down for that fruit of the spirit. Throughout the day, try to show love to the people you encounter. This could be done through something as simple as smiling at someone. Do this every day, for a series of 9 days, each day using a different fruit of the spirit.
