On May 11, 2013 I married the man of my dreams. We had gone through pre-marital counseling and agreed that we wanted to wait at least one year before we started to try and have a family. We wanted to have some time to ourselves to get used to the normal give and take of marriage and getting used to living with another person. At our year anniversary, I decided that I just wasn’t ready yet. I wanted a baby, don’t get me wrong, but I felt like my husband and I needed more time. It was around Thanksgiving of 2014 that I began to really feel like I was ready to make the jump into parenthood. My husband was thrilled as he had been wanting to start a family since the day we got married. Little did we know, this would be the start of our journey with infertility. A journey that would have ups and downs, loss, hope and disappointment.
I plan on using this blog to hopefully encourage other women as so many other women have helped to keep me encouraged and keep me going. Infertility is something that isn’t talked about like it should be because of how we women sometimes feel when the word infertile is used to describe us. I hope that there are women and couples out there who will read this and use their experiences to help other women on this journey.
